Head coach Park Hang-seo hopes Indonesia will play offensively against Vietnam
Speaking in the press conference before the match with Indonesia in the morning of Dec 14, head coach Park Hang-seo appreciated the attacking of Indonesia team. He also hoped that Indonesia team will play offensively against Vietnam in the upcoming match.
“Our defenders still have some issues and mistakes that we have seen in our first two matches and if we don’t remain focussed on every situation then that can be very dangerous for us so we have a lot of work to do to fix things defensively.”
Pressed on reports out of Indonesia that the Garuda coaching staff have suggested there are weaknesses in the wide defensive areas for Vietnam, Park welcomed that scrutiny and said that he’s also noticed avenues that his nation can exploit.
“If they feel that our wingbacks are not strong enough then they can attack us and that would be welcome so we say thanks for that information.
“Of course Indonesia played weaker teams in their first two matches and scored many goals but they also conceded three so we can see that this is an area that we can look to exploit.
“We hope they can play attacking football and that would be a good point for us in finding ways to beat them.”
Defender Bui Tien Dung:
“After the match with Malaysia, the team immediately prepared for the match with Indonesia. We have been practicing recovery and checking each player, preparing with high concentration for tomorrow’s match”.
“Coaching assistants always has a specific tactics for each match, and players need to follow it. Even in the start list or substitues all need to ready in any time”.
“Each match has diffirent difficulties. In the match with Indonesia, our defence will be always in high concentration, and support together to have a good result”.
“We had a good result after the match with Malaysia. Vietnam team always respect all opponents. We do not care about the defending champion or other opponents think about our power, we just focus on the victory to get the highest title of AFF Suzuki Cup 2020”.
“Every matches with Indonesia were difficult. However, we played againts them many time, so we know what to do”.
The match between Vietnam and Indonesia will kick-off at 7:30 p.m on Dec 15 at Bishan Stadium, Singapore.
