Kick-off the Nestlé Milo Cup 2023
On the afternoon of July 26, at the Provincial Gymnasium, the opening ceremony of the National Children’s Football Tournament, Nestlé Milo Cup 2023 took place.
Attending the opening ceremony were the Editor-in-Chief of the Young Pioneers and Children’s Newspaper, Chairman of the Organizing Committee Nguyen Phan Khue; representative of Vietnam Football Federation; Sponsor Nestlé Milo. On the side of Dak Lak province, there was Vice Chairman H’Yim Kdoh; Director of Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Thai Hong Ha and a lots of spectators.
The most attractive playground for children this year has more than 300 young players from the 16 best teams that have passed the qualifying round with the participation of more than 50 teams across the country competing.
The teams are divided into 4 groups, including: Dak Lak, Luxcom Ngoc Hung, T&T VSH, Gia Bao Hai Duong (Group A); Kon Tum, Van Tam Dong Nai, Hung Yen, Blue Sky (Group B); Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Song Lam Nghe An, T&T Bac Giang (Table C); Navy Phu Nhuan, Vietcombank Thai Binh, Khanh Hoa, Hanoi (Table D). Teams play one round to calculate points, taking the top 2 teams from each group to the next round.
According to the Organizing Committee, the race to the championship this year will still be familiar faces with a tradition of young football training such as Song Lam Nghe An, T&T VSH, Navy Phu Nhuan, Gia Bao Hai Duong, Hanoi.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, there was a match in Group A between the host Dak Lak and Luxcom Ngoc Hung with a 4 – 0 victory belonging to the away team. The match in Group A between Gia Bao Hai Duong and T&T VSH resulted in a draw of 1- 1.
Earlier, in the morning, there were matches in Group C between Song Lam Nghe An vs T&T Bac Giang and Phu Tho vs Thai Nguyen. The result was that defending champion Song Lam Nghe An won against T&T Bac Giang 8-0, while Phu Tho beat Thai Nguyen 3-0. The remaining two matches in Group D between Navy Phu Nhuan – Vietcombank Thai Binh and Khanh Hoa – Hanoi also closed with a 2 – 0 victory for Navy Phu Nhuan and 3 – 2 for Hanoi.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded 16 scholarships to 16 players of teams who have made great efforts to overcome difficulties and study hard, each worth 5 million VND and 2 boxes of products.
The tournament will compete until August 5.
