In Group A, host Viettel won Binh Dinh 3-1 due to Dang Tuan Phong and Do Van Chi’s two goals in the first half. After that, the striker who played prominently in the U19 tournament last year, Dao Gia Viet scored a shortened goal for his team. But Viettel was able to confirm their advantage with the decisive goal of Nguyen Huu Tuan to get the first 3 points.

Meanwhile, PVF struggled to hold a 2-2 draw against HNVY Vinh Phuc. PVF playing in this Group A is a very young squad led by coach Nguyen Duy Dong and head of delegation Nguyen Manh Cuong who is former SEA Games runner-up and former Vietnam team captain, instead of last year’s champion team with most players were born in 2006-2007.

That’s the reason why Vinh Phuc took the lead twice (1-0 and 2-1) thanks to Do Thanh Dat’s work when taking advantage of PVF with many young players. But the competitive spirit along with the very good sense of tactical discipline of this young team, especially the attitude of not giving up when not showing any qualms when fighting with the “seniors” (most were born in 2003 -2004) of Vinh Phuc helped Phung Quang Tu and Le Anh Duc equalize twice to get the first point.

On the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre in Group C, Khanh Hoa poured a rain of 6 goals into the net of rookie Lam Dong. Striker Tran Khanh Dung, who played very impressively at the U19 tournament last year in Binh Duong, scored a double. The remaining tables were scored by Than Thai Dat, Lu Thanh Danh, Nguyen Thanh Huan and Pham Huynh Minh Dat. This victory shows that Khanh Hoa is ready to challenge the two strong opponents in the group, Hanoi and HAGL.

In the other match, HAGL also had a resounding 3-0 victory over CAND. Although coach Pham Quang Thanh’s team still has names like Tran Ngoc Khanh and Hoang Tuan Hiep who won third place at the U19 tournament 2 years ago, HAGL played better. Dang Khanh Duy opened the scoring in the first half, then Le Huy Kiet and the Mosa ethnic player scored to set the result 3-0.

In Group E in Go Vap Sports Center, the B.Binh Duong team proved their strength against Tien Giang who was also very determine for points. The pair of experienced striker Tran Vu Hoang Long and Bui Vy Hao played prominently. In which Hoang Long opened the scoring very early (6 minutes) and after being equalized by Tran Duy Quan of Tien Giang, Bui Vy Hao, a spearhead with good speed and strength, scored a goal to set the score 2- 1 for the Prime land team. In the other match, the host Ho Chi Minh City was quite young compared to Long An. Long An’s 3 goals were scored by Nguyen Tan Dat, Nguyen Lam Gia Bao and Le Tuan Vi.

On Binh Phuoc Stadium, the match between the host and  Saigon FC was quite interesting. Binh Phuoc has good players in the middle such as Vu Dinh Duy and Dieu Quy. But Saigon proved to be more sensitive in attack when the style was more diverse. Bui Van Binh scored the only goal to help the team from Ho Chi Minh City win the first 3 points.

Meanwhile, Dong Thap won 2-0 at Can Tho, but none of  Dong Thap’s players scored. Both goals were scored by the captain of Can Tho Truong Quoc Thai. However, the three points of coach Bui Van Dong and Phan Thanh Binh’s team are deserved when they play better. In the remaining match, Dong Nai took initiative from the 4th minute, scored by Dang Khanh Dang. But the former U19 champions could not keep the score while at 81st minute, Le Ngoc Quan equalized to win 1 point for An Giang.
