Kickoff of the 2025 National Beach Soccer Championship: Defending Champions Start Strong
On the afternoon of June 7, in the coastal city of Nha Trang (Khánh Hòa), the 2025 National Beach Soccer Championship officially kicked off, featuring five teams: Bình Định, Đà Nẵng, Khánh Hòa, Tuy Hòa – Phú Yên, and Vietfootball.

At the opening ceremony, representatives from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) included Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội – Standing Member of the Executive Committee; from the local organizing side, Mr. Nguyễn Tuấn Thanh – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Khánh Hòa Province, who also co-chaired the Organizing Committee; along with other organizing committee members, participating teams, and a large crowd of fans.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội – Standing Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) affirmed that the tournament is a valuable platform that contributes to the development of the beach soccer movement, discovers and nurtures talents, and provides resources for the national teams. Since its introduction into the national competition system in 2009, the National Beach Soccer Championship has been held 15 times, reflecting the VFF’s efforts to maintain the practice and competition of beach soccer nationwide. It also helps diversify football formats and promotes community health and fitness activities, especially in coastal localities.
Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội also expressed gratitude for the attention, coordination, and favorable support from the People’s Committee of Khánh Hòa Province, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khánh Hòa, and other local authorities involved in organizing the tournament. He expressed confidence that this year’s championship will be a great success, leaving strong professional impressions and positive images in the hearts of fans, further boosting the robust development of beach soccer in Vietnam.
Immediately following the opening ceremony, two matches of the first round took place. Defending champions Đà Nẵng demonstrated their dominance by defeating Tuy Hòa – Phú Yên with a score of 6-2. The goals for Đà Nẵng were scored by Trần Ngọc Bảo (2’, 27’), Hồ Quốc Hừn (18’, 33’), Nguyễn Quốc Trung (36’), and an own goal by Nguyễn Hữu Nhựt (31’). For Tuy Hòa – Phú Yên, the goals came from Nguyễn Hữu Nhựt (32’) and Trần Văn Tình (36’).
In the second match, host team Khánh Hòa caused an upset by defeating defending runners-up Bình Định with a score of 3-1. The goals for Khánh Hòa were scored by Nguyễn Hữu Trọng (2’), Phùng Ngọc Vĩnh Quý (24’), and Diệp Tư Huy (33’). Bình Định’s sole goal was scored by Nguyễn Gia Bảo in the 26th minute.
The second round of matches is scheduled to take place on June 9.
