Opening the 2nd U13 International Youth Cup Vietnam-Japan

The tournament was kicked off on 20th Dec at New Center Binh Duong City

The opening ceremony had the attending of Mr. Tran Van Nam – Member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Secretary, Leader of Reprehensive of Parliament Binh Duong Province; Mr. Dang Minh Hung – Vice President of Binh Duong Province; Mr. Kunio Umeda – Honor Adviser of the tournament, Japan Ambassador, international member of Japan Football Association; Mr. Cao Van Chong – VFF Vice President. On behalf of Japan, there were Mr. Warashina Yoshihiro – Chief of the U13 International Youth Cup and Mr. Sakai Youichiro – Reprehensive of Japan Tokyu Group at Vietnam who also is the member of the organizer. On behalf of Becamex IDC, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Hung – Chairman of Becamex IDC, Mr. Nguyen Hoan Vu – Deputy General Director Becamex IDC. Attending at this ceremony also had Mr. Phillippe Troussier – head coach of the U19 Vietnam national team and the representatives of the ministries, departments, sponsor agencies, teams, and press.

Speak at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hoan Vu – Deputy General Director Becamex IDC impressed: “Following the success of the first tournament in 2018, this year, there are 8 teams join in this tournament with the players who are trained by both international and national training center. Frequency organizes the tournaments with help the young players have chances to practice and learn experience, thereby quickly develop and familiar with the international environment competition. With support from the local authorities and the companies, I believe that the players will quickly become the key players of Vietnamese football as well as other countries in the future”.

As the organizer of the tournament, Mr. Warashina Yoshihiro thanked Kawasaki Frontale Club, Becamex IDC, Becamex Binh Duong FC, Tokyu Group, Blayn Company and also congratulated the Men’s and Women’s Vietnam National Team for the gold medal of SEA Games 30. “I very happy because of the achievements of Vietnam’s teams in international tournaments and hope that Vietnam will get the chance to join the Olympic Tokyo 2020. Last December, the U13 International Youth Championship Vietnam – Japan was successfully held, and this year, the second tournament is continued to hold at Binh Duong. I hope that this tournament will be a good opportunity to improve the friendship between both countries. I also wish that in the future, the players will become the national players who will represent for both countries to compete in the international tournaments”. Mr. Warashina Yoshihiro said.

Mr. Warashina appreciated head coach Philippe Troussier and believed that he can guide and help Vietnam’s players improve and achieve many successes in the future. “Mr. Troussier worked as the head coach of Japan national team, U23 Olympic and U20 Japan. He is an inspiration for young Japanese players”. Mr. Warashina Yoshihiro shared.

The 2nd  U13 International Youth Cup Vietnam-Japan is held by Becamex IDC co-opera with Becamex Binh Duong Club, Kawasaki Frontale Club, and Becamex Tokyu. The tournament is the place for the young players to practice and learn from each other.

The tournament has the attending of 4 teams from Japan including Kawasaki Frontale Club, Tokyu S Reyes Club, Júbilo Iwata Club, Gamba Osaka Club and 4 Vietnam’s team including Becamex Binh Duong Club, Hanoi Club, SHB Da Nang Club, and PVF Club. 8 teams are divided into 2 groups. The winner and runner-up of the groups will join the semis.
