Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulates the Vietnam national team on reaching the final of the ASEAN Cup 2024

On the evening of December 29, the Vietnam national team won the second-leg semifinal match against Singapore with a score of 3-1. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh went down to the field to congratulate the Vietnam team.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh watched and cheered for the Vietnam national team throughout the more than 90 minutes of play at the Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho). Immediately after the referee blew the whistle to end the match, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh went down to the field to congratulate and celebrate with the Vietnam team. The Prime Minister expressed his hope that “the Golden Stars” would continue to uphold their spirit of playing for the national flag and colors to secure victory in the final.

Earlier, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also came to cheer for the Vietnam national team during the group stage of the ASEAN Cup 2024 at Viet Tri Stadium.

On the evening of December 29, the Vietnam national team defeated Singapore 3-1 in the second-leg semifinal thanks to a brace from Nguyen Xuan Son and one goal from Tien Linh. This was a well-deserved victory for “The Golden Warriors” as the whole team created a tight, well-organized game. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his players secured a convincing spot in the final with an aggregate score of 5-1.

After winning the first semifinal, the Vietnam national team will play the first leg of the final at home at Viet Tri Stadium on January 2, 2025. After that, the team will travel to the away stadium to play the second leg of the final on January 5, 2025.
