This can be considered a relatively “difficult” group for U23 Vietnam. According to experts, the direct opponent of U23 Vietnam in Group A will be Indonesia. Under the guide of coach Shin Tae Yong, U23 Indonesia has shown a positive change in recent times. The group of players attending the upcoming 31st SEA Games of Indonesia largely participated in the achievement of reaching the final of the AFF Cup 2020. Indonesia team is determined to win this year’s SEA Games gold medal in Vietnam.

The remaining 3 opponents in the group that U23 Vietnam cannot underestimate are the Philippines, Myanmar and Timor Leste. Myanmar used to cause many difficulties for U23 Vietnam during the SEA Games. Most recently, Myanmar also made U23 Vietnam have to work very hard to win when metting in the Asian U23 qualifying round. Meanwhile, the Philippines is also showing great progress over time. Another opponent that U23 Vietnam also needs to careful is Timor Leste. This team also caused many difficulties for U23 Vietnam in the semi-final match of the recent U23 AFF Championship.

In Group B, U23 Thailand seems to be a bit easier to breathe when only facing opponents as Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and Laos.
