The UAE women’s national team arrives in Phu Tho to prepare for the 2026 Asian Cup qualifiers
On the afternoon of June 24, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) women’s national team, led by head coach Vera Pauw, arrived at Muong Thanh Luxury Phu Tho Hotel to prepare for Group E of the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Despite a long flight, the UAE women’s players showed great enthusiasm upon arriving in Phu Tho and were warmly welcomed by the local organizing committee.
For the 2026 Asian Cup qualifiers, head coach Vera Pauw has brought along several key players from Abu Dhabi Country Club – the top women’s football club in the UAE, which previously faced Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC in the quarterfinals of the 2024/25 AFC Women’s Champions League. In addition, several naturalized players from England and the United States are expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the West Asian team’s playing style.
The UAE women’s national team decided to arrive three days early to acclimate to the weather and training conditions in Viet Tri. This reflects the strong determination of coach Vera Pauw and her squad as they aim to compete for the sole qualifying spot in Group E alongside host nation Vietnam.
