Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Dang Ha Viet awarded the Cup to Coach Mai Duc Chung (Vietnam Women’s Football Team) in the category of Impressive Sports Images and Moments of year

In the 7th time, the award is likened to the Oscar of Vietnamese Sports has a total prize money of up to 750 million VND, witnessing special races, especially in the two categories Male and Female Athlete of the Year, where “super fisherman” Huy Hoang competes with Asiad champion shooter Quang Huy, volleyball “dinosaur” Thanh Thuy competed with runner Nguyen Thi Oanh to become the winner.

At the 32nd SEA Games, Vietnamese sports won first place with 135 medals (of which 50% were in Olympic sports). This is also the first time that Vietnam ranked first in the entire delegation at a SEA Games not held at home. Vietnamese sports also won 3 Gold Medals, 5 Silver Medals, 19 Bronze Medals at the Asian Games, completing the set target.

It is worth mentioning that behind the achievements in the arenas, Vietnamese sports also witnessed a promising young generation, rising strongly, shining and breaking through, full of promise for the future. The women’s national football team created a historic milestone when qualified and competed in a World Cup. Besides, it has to mention the remarkable achievements of 1 gold medal, 10 silver medals, 9 bronze medals that the athletes and coaches won at the Asian Para Games, and before that, 3rd place in total at the Southeast Asian Para Games with 66 gold medals.

From the launch pad of the Victory Cup, many faces have grown immensely, shining in top arenas, notably Huy Hoang, Hung Nguyen, Nguyen Thi Oanh, Le Van Cong, Nguyen Manh Hieu, or many players playing key roles in men’s and women’s national football teams.
