They departed from Hanoi at 8:40 AM and arrived at Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 10:15 AM the same day. Thanks to priority support for delegations participating in SEA Games 33, all procedures were quick and smooth. Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation, Tran Anh Tu, personally welcomed and encouraged the team.

Before heading to Thailand for SEA Games 33, the women’s futsal team completed a month of training in Ho Chi Minh City and a quality training camp in Hangzhou, China, which included two friendly matches against the Chinese women’s futsal team. This period was crucial for the coaching staff to review skills, finalize tactics, assess the form of each player, and finalize the official list of 14 players.

Head coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàng shared that the team’s spirits are very good and that the players are ready for the goal of competing for medals. He affirmed that, although many athletes in the squad are participating in SEA Games for the first time, the coaching staff has confidence in their effort and team spirit. “We hope fans will continue to accompany and cheer for us. That is a great motivation to help the team perform better,” said Nguyễn Đình Hoàng.

The Vietnam women’s futsal team is the third team among four Vietnamese teams participating in the Football & Futsal events at SEA Games 33. Previously, U22 Vietnam and the Vietnam women’s national team arrived in Thailand on December 1st and 2nd, respectively. While U22 Vietnam won their opening match against U22 Laos with a score of 2-1, the women’s team had played two matches: a 7-0 victory over Malaysia and a 0-1 loss to the Philippines.

According to the schedule, the Vietnam women’s futsal team will begin their campaign with a match against Indonesia on December 12th at the Bangkok University Stadium, Thonburi, which is about a 40-minute drive from their base in Nonthaburi under favorable traffic conditions.

The team’s goal is to focus on each match individually, with the immediate aim of progressing through the group stage. After achieving this target, the coaching staff and players will plan to compete for the highest possible achievement at SEA Games 33.
