U20 National Futsal Championship 2024 Final: Thái Sơn Bắc Wins the Title for the First Time
On the afternoon of September 16, fans witnessed an exciting match between the young players of Sài Gòn Titans from Ho Chi Minh City and Thái Sơn Bắc in the final of the U20 National Futsal Championship 2024. After two intense halves, Thái Sơn Bắc emerged victorious with a narrow 3-2 win, claiming their first title in the national U20 futsal competition.

The match energized the atmosphere at the Q8 Futsal Club gymnasium with an exciting back-and-forth between the two teams right from the opening whistle. U20 Thái Sơn Bắc created more scoring opportunities than their opponents, but their attempts were thwarted by the outstanding performance of goalkeeper Lưu Thanh Bảo.
In the final seconds of the half, the representative from the capital executed a free kick near the center circle, with Vũ Ngọc Ánh converting it into a goal to break the deadlock. This allowed U20 Thái Sơn Bắc to take a lead going into the halftime break.
In the second half, both teams created thrilling moments with an exciting score chase. Just two minutes into the half, Nguyễn Minh Lương equalized for Sài Gòn Titans Ho Chi Minh City, making it 1-1. By the 24th minute, they took the lead for the first time in the final with a goal from Định Bộ Thành.
Facing a deficit, U20 Thái Sơn Bắc rallied and equalized at 2-2 in the 32nd minute with a goal from Nguyễn Nhân Nam. Two minutes later, a turning point occurred when Sài Gòn Titans’ key player Trần Thanh Phong received a direct red card for a rough tackle on an opponent. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Nguyễn Thế Cảnh scored the decisive goal in the 36th minute, sealing the 3-2 victory and clinching the championship for U20 Thái Sơn Bắc.
In the third-place match that took place earlier, Thái Sơn Nam Ho Chi Minh City defeated Tân Hiệp Hưng Ho Chi Minh City with a score of 5-2, featuring a hat-trick from Nguyễn Chí Bảo. In addition to securing third place, the U20 Thái Sơn Nam Ho Chi Minh City team also won the Fair Play award.
