VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan encouraged Vietnam Women’s team before the final match of SEA Games 32
On the morning of May 14, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan visited and encouraged the spirit of the Vietnam women’s team before the final match of the 32nd SEA Games women’s football gold medal.
On behalf of the VFF Standing Committee, President Tran Quoc Tuan praised the efforts and competitive spirit of coach Mai Duc Chung’s team during their recent journey at the 32nd SEA Games. VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan reminded the entire team ahead of time. The team will play the final match for the gold medal with a familiar opponent Myanmar. In the group stage, the Vietnam women’s team won with a score of 3-1 with goals from Huynh Nhu, Thanh Nha and Thuy Trang. However, the reunion in the upcoming final will be a completely different challenge, especially after what Myanmar has shown in the miraculous comeback to defeat Thailand 4-2 in the semi-finals.
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that football is not constant but always changes. The Myanmar’s team in the final will certainly be very different from the Myanmar of the group stage match. “It is important for us to be well prepared both physically and mentally, strictly following the coaching staff’s tactics. Wishing the whole team a victory becoming the history with the 4th consecutive SEA Games women’s football gold medal,” said VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan.
On behalf of the coaching staff and the players, head coach Mai Duc Chung thanked VFF leaders for always giving timely attention and encouragement to the women’s team. In addition to the support of the fans, VFF’s great interest and investment in the women’s team through focused plans and training at home and abroad has created motivation as well as a sense of responsibility, towards the set goal. “The women’s team will continue to do their best to complete the task in the next match,” coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed.
For his part, captain Huynh Nhu also shared: “The whole team is very determined to win the match tomorrow. We all want Vietnam women’s football to write down a history. This moment is the moment of the Vietnamese women’s team. All of you here, Nhu’s teammates, let’s be determined for the next match. Not only 4 times, but also 5 times, 6 times. To achieve that, this 4th time must definitely be won.”
The 32nd SEA Games women’s football final will take place at 19:30 of May 15 at Olympic National Stadium, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
