VFF rewards Sahako Club with 100 million VND for qualifier to the semi-finals of the AFF Futsal Cup 2022

In the last match of Group B in the AFF Futsal Cup 2022 – the club tournament of ASEAN futsal, the representative of Vietnam – Sahako excellently came back to beat Selangor MAC Club of Malaysia with a score of 2-1, thereby finished the group stage as the winner of the group.

Before this match, both teams had already qualifer to the semi-finals. Therefore, the result of the match between the two teams will decide the place in Group B. The difference is lower than opponent, so Sahako was forced to win, but the representative of Vietnam futsal soon encountered difficulties when conceded a goal at the beginning of the match. This situation forced Sahako to raise the tempo to increase the pressure on the Malaysian team’s field.

After a few missed opportunities, it was not until the 37th minute that Nguyen Tuan Anh’s team had Duong Ngoc Linh’s goal to equal 1-1, after a sudden shot that made the Selangor MAC goalkeeper embarrassed to let the ball goes through two feet.

The equalizer gave Sahako confidence and continuously increased the pressure. In the 40th minute, Dinh Hung’s efforts on the left wing created conditions for Nguyen Dac Huy to bring the second goal, helping Sahako won 2-1 over Selangor MAC.

With this result, Sahako finished the group stage in 1st place in Group B with 2 wins. The opponent in the semi-finals of coach Nguyen Tuan Anh’s team is Bintang Timur Surabaya (Indonesia) – the team ranked second in Group A after Hongyen Thakam of host Thailand.

After the match, on behalf of the VFF Standing Execuitive Committee, Acting President Tran Quoc Tuan congratulated Sahako club on completing the first target at the tournament. In order to promptly motivate the players, VFF has awarded the whole team 100 million VND.
