Vietnam players in top nominations of AFF Suzuki Cup 2020
AFF continued to annouce the list of the Breakout Star, the Best defender, the Best Goalkeeper of AFF Suzuki Cup 2020, Vietnam’s players such as Que Ngoc Hai, Nguyen Hoang Duc, Tran Nguyen Manh all named in the lists.
“One of four central midfielders on our list, the 23-year-old has been touted as the next star of Vietnamese football.
Seven interceptions and four clearances speak to his role defensively whilst he’s also had a very impressive 86% passing accuracy, seven key passes, a goal and two assists going forward” – AFF evaluated Hoang Duc
He is named in the list Breakout Star of the 2020 AFF Suzuki Cup with Kevin Hansen (Philippines), Ricky Kambuaya (Indonesia), Kogileswaran Raj (Malaysia), Phitiwat Sukjitthammakul (Thailand), Song Ui-young (Singapore).
Vietnam team also had a good defense while had only two goals back after 6 matches.
“In addition to being strong on the ball and in his overall positioning and reading of the play he also had the highest number of interceptions and blocks in another strong tournament” – Que Ngoc Hai in top Best Defender.
Tran Nguyen Manh also in top Goalkeeper of the 2020 AFF Suzuki Cup 2020: “Playing behind a dominant defence, the 30-year-old didn’t have as much to do as most of the other ‘keepers at the tournament but he was still a solid presence when called upon, making eight saves and collecting clean sheets in five of the six matches he played.
Indeed, Thai superstar Chanathip Songkrasin – who he denied from the penalty spot – was the only player to score past the Golden Star Warriors’ custodian in the tournament”.
