National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue also congratulated the Vietnamese women’s football team through VFF Acting President Tran Quoc Tuan.

Present at Cam Pha Stadium on the evening of May 21, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam congratulated the Vietnamese women’s team on the brilliant achievement of successfully defending the SEA Games gold medal 3 times in a row.

After awarding the gold medal to head coach Mai Duc Chung’s team, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said: “Once again, we have witnessed a great match of the Vietnamese women’s football team. The players played with dedication, courage, full of effort. The victory in the final at the 31st SEA Games is a worthy result of the careful preparation in all aspects of the Vietnamese women’s team. We used to call the men’s team the golden star warriors, today we call the women’s team the golden star warriors.”

VFF Acting President Tran Quoc Tuan excitedly emphasized: “Thank you for once again winning this great achievement at home. 19 years ago, we were crowned in Vietnam when Vietnam first hosted the 22nd SEA Games. That great mark has a chance to be repeated at 31st SEA Games. Winning gold is difficult, keeping it more difficult. But we still have 3 consecutive times to successfully defend the SEA Games gold medal. The 31st SEA Games with women’s football held in Quang Ninh was successful in all aspects, especially in terms of organization and expertise. Today’s success and recent success is winning tickets to the 2023 Women’s World Cup, opening the future for Vietnamese women’s football. I am very touched by the tireless dedication of head coach Mai Duc Chung’s team”.
