Vietnam team stopped at the 2025 Asian Beach Soccer Championship
Playing with determination, but limitations in international competition experience prevented the Vietnamese team from surpassing their opponent Malaysia, officially stopping at the group stage of the 2025 Asian Beach Soccer Championship.
The two teams created a fierce attacking game right from the first minutes. However, despite creating many opportunities, the Vietnamese players could not take advantage of them.
In the second half, the turning point of the match came in the 21st minute, when Muhamad Hafizal fired an accurate shot to open the score for Malaysia.
In the third half, Malaysia continued to increase the pressure and raised the score to 2-0 thanks to a goal by Muhammad Zulhairi Ismail.
Despite their determination to attack and having opportunities to score, the Vietnamese strikers still failed to be accurate. A glimmer of hope was lit in the 34th minute when Pham Truong Du Anh reduced the gap to 1-2, after a technical move. However, the joy of the Vietnamese team did not last long when Muhamad Hafizal shone again with a beautiful long-range shot, sealing a 3-1 victory for Malaysia.
Although they could not advance to the quarter-finals as expected, the Vietnamese beach soccer team still left a strong impression at this year’s tournament when they defeated former Asian champions Bahrain for the first time. Coach Mai Van Duc and his team can be proud of their efforts and continue to aim for new goals ahead.
