Vietnam U9, U11, U13 Football Festival 2026: Nearly 1,000 Young Players Share Their Passion for Football

The tournament was jointly organised by Vietnam Sports Solutions Joint Stock Company (VSSG) and Ho Chi Minh City Police FC, with the support of the Vietnam Sports Authority, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nha Trang University, and various partner organisations.

The Festival brought together 44 football clubs and community football centres from across the country, featuring nearly 1,000 young players in the U9, U11 and U13 age groups. A total of 118 matches were played over three days. Beyond providing a competitive platform, the Festival also created opportunities for the young players to interact and learn from one another, helping nurture their passion for football.

VFF President Trần Quốc Tuấn congratulated the Festival on its success and highly valued the role of community football in expanding the foundation for the development of Vietnamese football. He expressed his hope that events such as the Festival would provide training centres and scouts with opportunities to identify more young talents, gradually paving the way towards the national youth competition system and professional football in the future.

VFF President Trần Quốc Tuấn also expressed his hope that the Festival would be held annually and expanded to more localities, contributing to a healthy football environment where children can develop physically while pursuing their passion. In turn, this would help improve the quality and broaden the foundation for the development of Vietnamese football.

One of the highlights of the Festival was the integration of historical and educational values into the tournament. Three trophies named after national heroes Quang Trung, Lý Thường Kiệt and Trần Hưng Đạo, along with playing fields named after historic landmarks and battles such as Điện Biên Phủ, Bạch Đằng, Chi Lăng, Ngọc Hồi – Đống Đa and Rạch Gầm – Xoài Mút, helped inspire a sense of national pride among the young players.

The Festival also placed a strong emphasis on fair play by waiving participation fees, offering no cash prizes and, for the first time, including regulations on integrity and honesty in player registration documents in the tournament rules. Notably, the entire team of match supervisors and referees worked on a voluntary basis, contributing to the development of youth football.

The success of the Vietnam U9, U11, U13 Football Festival 2026 provides a strong foundation for the organisers to develop the tournament into an annual event, expand its scale and create more opportunities for young talents across the country to compete and develop.
