Women’s National Cup 2023 (24/2): Hanoi I meet Than KSVN in the final
This afternoon (February 24), the two semi-finals of the 2023 Women’s National Cup took place in a dramatic way.

Semi-final 2 at PVF was a remarkable match between Hanoi I and Thai Nguyen T&T. Understanding the opponent, Thai Nguyen T&T actively played slowly and retreated deep into the home area to defend against the strong attack of the Capital team.
During most of the first half, Hanoi I encountered many difficulties in front of the large defense and concentrated competition of Thai Nguyen T&T. Even stars like Van Su, Hai Linh or Hai Yen did not have a really favorable opportunity to score the opening goal. The first 45 minutes passed without a goal.
Entering the second half, Hanoi I continued to be the team with a more favorable position. However, team of head coach Dang Quoc Tuan still could not score goal against Thai Nguyen T&T. On the other side of the front line, the yellow shirt defense with the command of Thuy Nga continued to stand strong throughout the second half. The 0-0 result after 90 minutes officially forced the two teams to enter the penalty.
After 5 series of shots, Hai Yen was the only one who failed to kick the Hanoi side I and Thai Nguyen T&T had 2 players who failed. Hanoi I is the team which will play in the final match of the tournament.
The other semi-final match is the confrontation between Than KSVN and Phong Phu Ha Nam at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. It is not surprising that Than KSVN is the dominant team on the field thanks to the youth and technical skills of the better quality players. However, the first half was the period when Than KSVN did not make good use of the opportunity they had. The break started without a goal despite dominating the field.
Entering the second half, Than KSVN continued to play impressively, but the goal came to them in an unexpected way. In the 55th minute, from Truc Huong’s not-so-dangerous pass, goalkeeper Hai Yen on Phong Phu Ha Nam’s side suddenly made a mistake to let Ha Thi Nhai hit the ball to easily open the score of the match.
For the rest of the match, Phong Phu Ha Nam played full of effort but only Tuyet Dung was not enough to help coach Nguyen Khanh Thu’s team get a goal. Thus, the final match of the 2023 Women’s National Cup is the match between Hanoi I and Than KSVN taking place on March 1.
