Draw ceremony of National Championship Division 2 2020
On the morning of 16th June, the draw ceremony of National Championship Division 2 2020 was held at Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

Delegate included: Mr. Nguyễn Minh Ngọc – VFF Deputy General Secretary, Mr. Nguyễn Minh Châu – VFF Deputy General Secretary, Mrs. Nguyễn Thanh Hà – VFF Deputy General Secretary, and Head of Function Departments, Mr. Đỗ Thanh Tùng – Vice Chairman of Next Media, representative of club/team participant in the National Championship Division 2 2020 and media.
Speak at the ceremony, on behalf of VFF, Mr. Nguyễn Minh Ngọc – VFF Deputy General Secretary affirmed that this tournament has an important role in the competition system of non-professional tournaments organize by VFF. “This is a tournament to maintain and develop local football. VFF believes that with the effort in the organization and the careful preparation of the teams, the tournament will receive the great attention of spectator in the whole country as well as show the improvement on the quality of the tournament, thereby creating a highly competitive environment to find out good players for national teams.
This year, there is a change when 3 teams will get the chance to play at V.League 2 2021. This adjustment is in the plan which has been approved by the VFF Executive Committee to improve the quality of the tournaments.
There are 15 clubs/teams participate in this tournament, in which, there are 10 teams of National Championship Division 2 2019 included: Công An Nhân Dân, Trẻ SHB Đà Nẵng, Nam Định, Kon Tum, Lâm Đồng, Triệu Minh, Bình Thuận, Gia Định, Tiền Giang, Vĩnh Long; 04 teams promoted from National Championship Division 3 2019 included: PVF, FC Phú Thọ, Trẻ TP.HCM, Đồng Nai; and Phù Đổng FC – the team relegated from the V.League 2 2019.
Base on the geography, the clubs/teams divided into 2 groups. Group A includes 7 teams: FC Phú Thọ, Kon Tum, Lâm Đồng, Nam Định, Phù Đổng, PVF, Trẻ SHB Đà Nẵng; group B includes 8 teams: Bình Thuận, Công An Nhân Dân, Đồng Nai, Gia Định, Tiền Giang, Trẻ TP.HCM, Triệu Minh, Vĩnh Long.
This year, the tournament will apply Fair-play criteria to count the point in case some teams have the same points.
