Opening Ceremony of the 2026 National Futsal Referee Assessor and Referee Training Program
On the afternoon of May 3 in Ho Chi Minh City, the VFF held the opening ceremony of the 2026 National Futsal Referee Assessor and Referee Training Program, which takes place from May 3 to May 7, 2026.
VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu attended and delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony. Representing the VFF Referee Committee were Mr. Dang Thanh Ha – Chairman, and Mr. Pham Anh Dung – Member, along with 12 referee assessors and 53 referees assigned to the 2026 national futsal tournaments.
Speaking on behalf of the VFF leadership at the opening ceremony, Vice President Tran Anh Tu emphasized the vital role of refereeing and assessing in ensuring fairness, transparency, and enhancing the technical quality of the tournaments. As Vietnamese futsal continues to grow rapidly and integrate internationally, the demands on refereeing personnel are increasing, requiring high precision, resilience, and professionalism in match officiating.
According to the training agenda, participants will be updated on various key topics, including: the updated Laws of the Game for the 2025/2026 season, referee assessment methods, match management, analysis and situational judgment, as well as practical refereeing drills and physical fitness tests. Additionally, the assessors and referees will engage in discussions to learn from the 2025 season, aiming to enhance consistency in match officiating.
This year’s training program holds great significance as the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship continues to elevate its quality and align closely with the international competition system. The tournament results will serve as the basis for determining Vietnam’s representatives in the 2027 Asian and Southeast Asian club-level competitions organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF).
With thorough preparation and practical training content, the program is expected to enhance the quality of the referee assessors and referees, ensuring that the officiating of the 2026 national futsal tournaments is professional, fair, and successful.
According to the schedule, the first leg of the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship will take place from May 9 to June 10, 2026, while the second leg is scheduled from June 21 to July 25, 2026. Matches will be held at two main venues: Chanh Hung Ward Futsal Arena (Ho Chi Minh City) and Cau Giay Gymnasium (Hanoi).
