AFC Champions League group stage – Group H: HAGL is determined to play for fans
Following Yokohama F.Marinos, the home club HAGL is the second team present in Ho Chi Minh City at noon of April 12, to prepare for the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2022- Group H.
Due to geographical conditions, HAGL cannot organize matches at Pleiku Stadium, and must use Thong Nhat Stadium to host matches in Group H in group stage of the AFC Champions League. Having rested for a few days after winning a place to the quarterfinals of the National Cup 2022, at noon of April 12, head coach Kiatisak’s team took a flight to Ho Chi Minh City to continue preparing for the continent’s playground.
With the coming back of the AFC Champions League, HAGL was very excited. That’s probably one of the reasons why the players were quite happy when they arrive at Tan Son Nhat airport. After arriving at the airport, the team were taken for a rapid test for Covid-19. After that, the whole HAGL team was taken to Park Royal Hotel.
In an interview at Tan Son Nhat airport, coach Kiatisak said: We will try our best to give the spectators good matches. I hope the spectator in Ho Chi Minh City will cheer for HAGL because HAGL not only represents Gia Lai but also Vietnamese football. We cannot compare V.League and Champions League because they are 2 different arenas. HAGL’s performance in the V.League does not affect the preparation for the continental tournament.”
As planned, the team will have the first training session to prepare for the AFC Champions League in Ho Chi Minh City at 4:00 pm on April 13 at the Military Zone 7 field.
