Việt Nam win first match in U-19 event

Việt Nam (right) beat Chinese Taipei 2-0 in their first match at the International U19 Football Tournament yesterday in Nha Trang City. 

Nguyễn Tuấn Anh and Bùi Hoàng Việt Anh scored for the hosts at the 16th and 75th minute.

Tuấn sent a free kick to the high far corner of Chinese Taipei’s goalkeeper. Later, Anh made it 2-0 from a penalty shootout after he missed one in the first half.

The result pushed Việt Nam to the top of the table in the five-team tournament.

Vietnamese Hoàng Anh Gia Lai FC and South Korean Gwangju FC shared the second position after their goalless match that was played before the opening ceremony yesterday.

In today’s fixture, Chinese Taipei will play Gwangju and Việt Nam will meet Myanmar.
