The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has announced to appoint Ngo Le Bang, former assistant to Alfred Riedl, as the coach of the woman”s national football team.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has announced to appoint Ngo Le Bang, former assistant to Alfred Riedl, as the coach of the woman”s national football team.

VFF officials on March 8 met to discuss activities of national football squads in 2007, particularly preparations for important international events of the women”s football team, including the second qualifier round of the Olympic Beijing 2008, the Southeast Asian Championship, and the 24th SEA Games.

At the second qualifier round of the Olympic Beijing 2008 in Thailand in February 2007, the Vietnamese team suddenly lost 0-1 to Thailand. Though Vietnam still enters the second qualifier round thanks to its triumph over Maldives and Singapore, it only ranks second after Thailand in group B.

As a result, the VFF decides to make some changes to help strengthen the team. Accordingly, Ngo Le Bang is appointed to be the coach of the team.

Before becoming the new coach of the women”s team, Mr Bang was language assistant to Alfred Riedl, the coach of the men”s national football squad.
