Striker Le Cong Vinh beat his team mates Le Quoc Vuong and Nguyen Minh Duc at Song Lam Nghe An and Huynh Quoc Anh from Da Nang to become the best Vietnamese player at the 23rd SEA Games, winning a bonus of a Toyota Vios sedan

Striker Le Cong Vinh beat his team mates Le Quoc Vuong and Nguyen Minh Duc at Song Lam Nghe An and Huynh Quoc Anh from Da Nang to become the best Vietnamese player at the 23rdSEA Games, winning a bonus of a Toyota Vios sedan.

Vietnam Football Federation announced the result of the vote among Ho Chi Minh City Sports newspaper, Vietnam Sports, Sports Today, Football Daily, Tuoi Tre and Thanh Nien newspapers, website of the Vietnam Football Federation, coach Alfred Riedl and a representative from the under-23 coaching board, on December 11.

Accordingly, Cong Vinh, who was substitute for Van Quyen and Thanh Binh in the opening match against Singapore, won the vote. This was a bonus for his great efforts at the 23rd SEA Games. Cong Vinh took the place in the Vietnamese under-23s” forwards from out-of-sort Thanh Binh, scoring four goals in the match against Laos and the winner in the semi-final against Malaysia to send the under-23s through to the final, in which they lost 3-0 to the Thais. 

After hearing that he was the winner of the vote, Cong Vinh expressed his sincere thanks to coaches and hist team mates. He said: SI do not know how to say it but I want to express my sincere thanks to the coaches, teammates and Vietnamese spectators who gave me confidence. Winning the award or not, I always remind myself to live the trust and expectations of coaches, team mates and spectators.⬝
