Germany coach Falko Götz official becomes head coach of Olympic & National team for 2 years (from 2011 to 2013). Contract signing and head coach announcement ceremony was solemn held at Vietnam Football Federation head quarter on 6/6/2011.

 

 

Falko Gotz becomes the new head coach of Olympic & national team


Speaking at the seminar, VFF vice president Pham Ngoc Vien highly appreciated the achievement of Mr Falko Götz during his player and coaching career. Mr Pham Ngoc Vien emphasized “Among all the coaches in the list for selection, Mr Falko Götz is the best suited for Vietnam football, he meets all the requirements set out by VFF, specially his professional knowledge. VFF hope that with many experiences in professional coaching, Mr Falko Götz will bring to Vietnam a new aspect & spirit to conquer the big target in the future of Vietnam football”.       

 

 

Of behalf of VFF leaders, Mr. vice president Pham Ngoc Vien expresses the confidence in the durable bond between Mr Falko Götz & Vietnam football, not simply as 2 years initial contract. As to VFF, VFF will give the most favorable conditions for Mr Falko Gotz & colleagues to successfully finish tasks. 

 

In the day to become head coach of Olympic & National team, Mr Falko Götz was self-confident of his abilities. He said “I’m the man of work and wish to represent by concrete actions rather than words. I have all the ambition and desire to win in each tournament. To do this, I think we need to work really hard and should also receive supports from many sides, from VFF, from media and fans”.

 

Answering the questions regarding to team’s way of playing, coach Falko Götz said that “I’ll try his best to exploit the strength of Vietnamese players and instill his football philosophy. That is philosophy of beautiful playing style and master in all situations based on three principles: discipline, physical time and team spirit. Besides, my responsibilities will not only to guarantee the achievement of team but also to contribute to development of Vietnam football in the future. I hope that I’ll actively engage with the success of Vietnam football”

 

About the plan after becoming head coach of Olympic & national team, Mr Falko Götz said that in the short term, because Olympic team will have one match in first leg of Olympic London 2012 on 19/6 therefore he will hand over the authority for assistant Phan Thanh Hung. He’ll get to work immediately when the national team gathers on 15/6 in preparation for the match against Macau on 29/6 in the first leg of World Cup Qualifier in 2014. 
 

* Falko Götz formerly helped German Bundesliga Bayer Leverkusen win the UEFA Cup in 1988.


He had additional spells with German FC Koln, Turkish Galatasaray, 1860 Munich and Hertha Berlinbefore finally retiring.

 

As coach, he assisted Hertha Berlin in finishing fourth twice in the German Bundesliga in 2002 and 2005.

 

Before taking up his post in Viet Nam, Falko Götz had been the coach of the Third Division Bundesliga team Holstein Kiel which he joined in 2009.
