Hosts Vietnam and Thailand recorded thumping victories over their Central Asian rivals in the second and final round of the 2010 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers on Saturday.

A six-goal blitzkrieg from D T N Cham saw Vietnam steamroll Kyrgyzstan 10-1 while Thailandgot the better of Uzbekistan 6-1 at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok.

 

N M Nguyet, D K Chi, Nguyen Thi Nga and L T Oanh added one goal apiece for Chen Yuan Fa’s Vietnam. Svetlana Pokachalova reduced the deficit for Kyrgyzstan in the 78th minute.

 

Job Seesraum, Ae Maijarern and substitute Fon Romyen scored two goals each for Thailand.

 

Uzbekistan ’s Makhfuza Turapova was given her marching orders in the 28th minute while Nargiza Abdurasulova pulled one back for the visitors in the 15th minute.

 

Kyrgyzstan will now face Hong Kong on Monday while Uzbekistan will take on Iran the same day.
