After the outstanding achievement of the Vietnam Futsal Team at the FIFA World Cup 2021 Asian play-off, on 26th May 2021, the Minister of Culture, Sport, and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung sent a congratulatory letter to the team. In the letter, he writes:

According to the plan, at 7:30 a.m tomorrow (27th May), the flight of the Futsal National Team will arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City), finish the successful journey at FIFA World Cup 2021 play-off.

Vietnam secured the final Asian ticket for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021 after 1-1 draw against Lebanon in their second leg playoff tie on Tuesday, with the Southeast Asian side advancing on away goals.

Vietnam and Lebanon played to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021 Asian Playoff tie on Sunday.

On the afternoon of May 20, the delegation of the Vietnam Embassy in UAE led by Counsellor Dao Quoc Viet visited and encourages the futsal national team before the play-off of FIFA Futsal World Cup 2021.

In order to the organization of play-off FIFA Futsal World Cup 2021, 4 teams included Vietnam, Lebanon, Thailand, and Iraq mend the field as the regulation of AFC.

At 7 p.m (GMT+7) of May 17th, Vietnam Futsal Team had a friendly match with Iraq Futsal Team in Khorfakkan Club Arena (UAE).

Departed from Tan Son Nhat Airport (HCM City) in the evening of May 15th, Futsal National Team arrived at Dubai (UAE) at 6h30 a.m (GMT+7) on May 16th. All ready for the upcoming games.

On the morning of 5th May, all members of the Futsal National Team inoculated vaccination COVID-19 at 175 Military Hospital (HCM City).

The road to futsal’s biggest event became clear for four Asian teams, with match-ups for the AFC Playoffs for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021 revealed in a draw on Tuesday.
