Head coach Park Hang-seo: “Vietnam team tried the best but still had a gap between two teams”
Speaking at the press conference after the lose 0-1 over the Japan team, head coach Park Hang-seo admitted even the team made an effort but his players still could fill the gap between the two teams. Even that, joining this round is a chance for the players to gain experience for development.

Head coach Park Hang-seo said: “Before this, Vietnam national team used to play with the South East team, but now, we are playing with the top team in Asia and my players were little bit lack of confidence. However, joining this 3rd round also is an opportunity for the players to gain experience for the next development”.
He remarked: “There is a gap in the personal level of Japan team and Vietnam team. Vietnamese players made all their effort. We lost 5 games so the team is under big pressure now. During my football career, it was not until now, I understand how difficult to get 1 point. However, this round also shows there are many stronger teams than Vietnam. As a head coach, I will do my best, but to have more chances in the 3rd round like this, we need to try more and more, build the plans, set the next targets to have better results. I think that if we set a big ambition for the first time joining, it is too hard. But now, this is just a journey for us to experience, and improve our player”.

“Vietnam used to be a strong team with a good defense. And today, I saw their attack ability also good. This may be from the good guidance of head coach Park Hang-seo and coaching assistants”.
“We faced the difficulties while players were delayed by flight. But the good thing is our players thought really positively, and connect well together. The players who are already here connected and support the late players. Therefore, we had a good result. In the next match, we will face Oman again, who won us 1-0 in the first match. Japan team will try to have a win in next match”.
