National Second Division 2026 Qualifiers Conclude: Truong Giang Gia Dinh Secure Final Place in the Finals
On the afternoon of June 7, Matchday 14—the final round of the qualifying stage of the 2026 National Second Division Championship—was played simultaneously in both Groups A and B. The results confirmed all four teams that have qualified for the Final Stage, where they will compete for three promotion spots to the 2026/27 National First Division Championship.

The highlight of the final matchday was the decisive clash between Quang Ngai and Truong Giang Gia Dinh at Quang Ngai Stadium. Before the match, both teams were level on 21 points and competing directly for the remaining qualification spot from Group B to the Final Stage. Lam Dong had already secured qualification in the previous round.
Given the importance of the encounter, both sides approached the game with great determination. The home team took the lead in the 21st minute through Cao Hoang Dat. However, Truong Giang Gia Dinh demonstrated their resilience by finding an equalizer in the 37th minute, courtesy of Vu Huu Quy.
In the remaining minutes, both teams pushed forward in search of a decisive goal, but neither was able to capitalize on the opportunities created. The match ended in a 1–1 draw, a result that was enough for Truong Giang Gia Dinh to retain second place in Group B and secure the final berth in the Final Stage.
In the other Group B fixture, Lam Dong continued to underline their strength with a 1–0 away victory over Mekong Can Tho, thanks to a goal from Huynh Quang Thai. The result saw the Central Highlands side finish top of the group with 25 points from 12 matches. Meanwhile, Tay Ninh ended their campaign on a high note with an emphatic 4–1 win over Dak Lak, moving up to fourth place with 17 points.
In Group A, although they had already secured qualification for the Final Stage, Hue maintained their competitive edge by defeating PVF 2–1 away from home. Tre Ha Noi extended their unbeaten run with a goalless draw against Tre Cong An Ha Noi, finishing the qualifying stage at the top of Group A with 24 points. In the remaining match, the Ha Tinh Sports Training and Competition Center drew 1–1 with Tre Phu Dong.
At the conclusion of the qualifying stage, the four teams that advanced to the Final Stage of the 2026 National Second Division Championship were Tre Ha Noi and Hue from Group A, along with Lam Dong and Truong Giang Gia Dinh from Group B. Under the competition regulations, the teams will compete in a knockout format to determine the three clubs that will earn promotion to the 2026/27 National First Division Championship.
The qualifying stage also determined the two teams relegated to the 2027 National Third Division Championship: Tre Phu Dong and Mekong Can Tho. The two sides finished bottom of Groups A and B, respectively, with 8 and 6 points.
According to the competition schedule, the Final Stage of the 2026 National Second Division Championship will take place from June 13 to June 16 at Quy Nhon Stadium in Gia Lai Province. The two semi-final matches on June 13 will see Tre Ha Noi face Truong Giang Gia Dinh, while Lam Dong take on Hue. The winners of these matches will secure automatic promotion, while the two losing teams will compete in a play-off on June 16 for the final promotion berth to the National First Division.
