On August 15, Hai Phong FC competed in the AFC Champions League qualifying round
Hai Phong FC will be a guest at Mong Kok Stadium of Rangers Club (Hong Kong, China) in the AFC Champions League 2023/2024 qualifier. The match will take place at 6:30 p.m. today (August 15).
Rangers qualified to qualify for the AFC Champions League after finishing at third place in the Hong Kong Premier League last season.
This is the second time in history that Hai Phong FC has stepped into the Asian playground. Previously, the Port team attended the Asian Cup Winners’ Cup (AFC held from 1990 to 2002) in the 1996/1997 season.
If they overcome Rangers, Hai Phong FC will face Incheon United in the play-off match on August 22 to compete for tickets to the group stage of the AFC Champions League. Notably, if Hai Phong FC participates in the highest arena in Asia, HAGL will be able to attend the AFC Cup 2023/2024.
In case Hai Phong FC cannot win tickets to the AFC Champions League, the runner-up of the V-League 2022 will go down to compete in the AFC Cup.
