Team Base Camps confirmed for FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™
According to the latest announcement from FIFA, the Vietnamese women’s team will be stationed at Rydges Hotel, Auckland city.
Rydges Auckland is an urban oasis in the heart of Auckland / Tāmaki Makaurau’s city centre. A 267 room contemporary, 4.5 star hotel, located just a short stroll away from the high end dining and shopping of Queen Street, and Viaduct Harbour.
Accompanied with Rydges, Vietnam Women team will train at Fred Taylor, which is home to West Coast Rangers Football Club. The West Coast Rangers was formed in 2021 as an amalgamation of Waitakere City and Zorwest United football clubs and has just over 1,200 registered members, including 900 juniors.
Sharing this information, the head coach of the Vietnamese women’s team Mai Duc Chung expressed satisfaction with the team’s location for the first time participating in the World Women’s Football Championship. “Last October, I had a business trip in New Zealand to prepare for the tournament in July 2023. In general, FIFA and the two host countries have prepared very good facilities for the teams. The Rydges hotel and the training ground at Fred Taylor Park are also among our priorities after visiting and surveying the military sites. Therefore, I am very satisfied with this hotel and training location.”
The first opponent of the Vietnamese women’s team, the US team, will also be stationed in Auckland city. Meanwhile, the Netherland team will be stationed in Tauranga, 2 hours from Auckland city by bus.
