The Vietnam national football team and player Nguyễn Xuân Son were honored at the 2025 Cống Hiến Awards
On the evening of March 5, 2025, the 19th Cống Hiến Awards were held at the Hanoi Opera House, honoring individuals and organizations with outstanding contributions to sports and cultural arts. This year, Vietnamese football made a strong impression as the Vietnam men’s national football team and player Nguyễn Xuân Son were both recognized in two important categories.

According to the announcement from the organizers, the Vietnam national team was awarded the “Sports Achievement of the Year” award for winning the 2024 ASEAN Cup. In the “Sports Personality of the Year” category, Nguyễn Xuân Son, the naturalized forward who donned the national team jersey for the first time, was honored. His excellence in the colors of the Nam Định Steel Club and the national team won the admiration of both experts and fans, making a significant contribution to the overall success of Vietnamese football in the past year.
