Vietnam U15 women’s team arrive in Australia to compete in the CommBank Emerging Championships 2026

The Vietnam U15 women’s team departed for Australia on the morning of April 9 with a squad of 18 players. After an approximately 11-hour journey, the team arrived in Melbourne later that same evening.

According to the plan, the team will hold their first training session on the afternoon of April 10 to get accustomed to the local weather and pitch conditions. The temperature in Melbourne is currently around 17°C, which is quite cool and favorable for training and adaptation.

In Australia, the Vietnam U15 women’s team will compete in the CommBank Emerging Championships 2026, taking place from April 9 to 15 at the Home of the Matildas in Bundoora, Melbourne. This is a prestigious youth development tournament in Australian football, featuring top youth teams and invited international sides.

The tournament is part of Australia’s system for identifying and developing young players, providing a high-quality competitive environment where players can gain experience and be exposed to different playing styles. Participation in the event offers an important opportunity for Vietnam’s young players to gain international exposure, improve their expertise, and further strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Australia in youth football training and development.
