Following the successes achieved in 9 years of Hanoi Premier League (HPL) and 2 VPL seasons, 2022 marks an important milestone with the continued companionship from the main sponsor, Bia Saigon Bank, belonging to SABECO. The national 7-man football championship – Beer Saigon Cup 2022 has been expanded to be held in 5 provinces and cities in Hanoi (HPL), TP. Ho Chi Minh City (SPL), Dak Lak (DPL), Nha Trang City (KPL) and Can Tho City (CPL).
Professional and methodical organisation, dramatic, attractive and highly attractive matches with fans, along with the investment and preparation process of teams representing many regions, VPL-S3 were really great festivals. Since the opening in June 2022, Beer Saigon Cup 2022 has proven the prestige and influence in Vietnamese football through a unique and impressive 7-person format. The tournament has received a lot of love from fans across the country, especially 7-man football lovers.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – VFF Acting President assessed: “Community football and grassroots are important fields contributing to the development of Vietnamese football. In recent years, VFF has paid special attention and created maximum conditions for the 7-player football system to develop, step by step perfect and more professional. With careful investment, the 7-player football tournament has confirmed the quality of expertise, contributing to promoting the development of grassroots and domestic football”.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – VFF Acting President also highly appreciates and believes that the organisation committee efforts will bring the dramatic and beautiful matches, help spread love, show passion, and investment of Vietnamese football.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan, General Director of VietFootball, Head of the Organisation Committee, expressed his hope that in the future 7-player football will develop further and become part of a solid foundation for development of Vietnamese football and reaching out to the world.
After more than 3 months of competing with 11 regional rounds, Beer Saigon 2022 has identified 8 teams to attend the VPL-S3 finals. Teams will compete in a knockout format, starting from the Quarterfinals; The winning team competes for the championship and categorizes the top four places. Meanwhile, the losing teams from the Quarterfinals will continue to compete in the last four rankings.
Regarding the prize, the winning team will receive prizes including Cup, gold medal, title certificate and a bonus of 150 million VND; the runner-up team will receive a silver medal, a title certificate and a prize of VND 80 million; The third place team will receive a bronze medal, a title certificate and a prize of 40 million VND.
The final round are expected to take place from September 23 to September 25 at the Culture and Sports Center of Hoang Mai District (Hanoi).
