FIFA supports the Football for School in Vietnam
On December 1, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) completed receiving more than 50,000 balls supported by the FIFA to promote the Football for school in Vietnam.
In March 2023, a VFF delegation participated in a conference on football for schools in Singapore. At this conference, representatives of VFF presented about the football for school program in Vietnam through the FFAV project.
To achieve sustainable development, school football needs strong attention from authorities and organizations at home and abroad. To promote this goal, VFF and the Ministry of Education have signed a MOU on mobilizing development resources for this sport at schools.
At the conference, the representative of VFF presented a proposal that was highly appreciated by FIFA and decided to support VFF with more than 50,000 balls and a budget to develop the school football program.
After working with the Department of Physical Education – Ministry of Education, by December 1, the entire number of balls was transferred from Hai Phong Port, Tien Sa Port (Da Nang City), and Cat Port Lai (Ho Chi Minh City) to local Departments. From here, more than 50,000 ASIAD No. 4 balls will be delivered to 1,000 schools and more than 20 member federations and youth soccer training centers across the country.
This is a meaningful program that creates a foundation for the development of school football in Vietnam and will continue to be implemented shortly so that students have the opportunity to closer to football, as well as having better facilities for school football.
It is expected that in early 2024, VFF will send invitations to leaders of FIFA’s school football project to Vietnam to participate in the ball ceremonial handover and accompanying activities in localities.
