With the important contribution while guiding U22 Vietnam to get the goal medal of Men’s Football at SEA Games 30, meet the expectation of spectators after many years waiting, head coach Park Hang-seo and 2 assistants Lee Young-jin and Kim Han-yoon were recieved the honor of the Government. The ceremony was held at the VFF office on the morning of 27th Aug.

Minister Nguyễn Ngọc Thiện awarded Labour Medal of Second degree of the Government to head coach Park Hang-seo.
The last year 2019 was a busy year as well as an important year of Vietnamese Football. Besides the events and national competitions, the national teams also have a good achievement at the FIFA, AFC, and AFF’s tournaments. In which, under the guidance of head coach Park Hang-seo and coaching assistants, men’s national team and U22 national team got the excellent results at Asian Cup 2019 and World Cup 2022 Qualifier. Until now, Vietnam is an only ASEAN team at the top of the World Cup 2022 Qualifier’s group.

To reach that goal, besides the support of the Government, the take care of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the positive of VFF, there was an important contribution of foreign professors such as head coach Park hang-seo, assistant Lee Young-jin, and assistant Kim Han-yoon.

At the ceremony, head coach Park Hang-seo shared that: “I’m proud of being the first foreigner receiving a second-class Labor Medal for contribution in the field of football. However, I am just a representative of the team members, who have tried their best for recent achievements, to receive the medal. I understand that the meaning of this medal in the hope that we will exert more efforts to help develop Vietnamese football. I understand well my responsibility to Vietnamese football. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused many difficulties. Like international tournaments, the V-League has been canceled. I don’t think I’m allowed to stand by and watch. This is a time when I have invested heavily to help develop Vietnamese football. I’m working hard to find talent for the national teams. Vietnamese people, please hold hands together to overcome this difficult time. I will try to bring you joy in the future”.

On behalf of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Miniter Nguyễn Ngọc Thiện congratulated head coach Park Hang-seo and assistants Lee Young-jin, Kim Han-yoon. He believes that the Korean coach will continue leading Vietnamese national teams to victory in the coming time, especially the World Cup 2022 qualifier and the 31st SEA Games.
