Head coach Park Hang-seo: “I believe that the players will try their best to meet the expectation of Vietnamese fans”
Speaking in the press conference before the match with Saudi Arabia, head coach Park Hang-seo said that the Vietnam team will be a totally different version compare to the previous matches with the Saudi Arabia team. He also believes that his team will try their best to meet the expectation of Vietnamese fans.

Head coach Park Hang-seo said that: “Tomorrow is the first match of Vietnam team in the final round of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Asian Qualifier. Playing away from home is also a pressure for players. However, I believe that they will adopt it and play with their smart to resolve the difficulties”.
The Korean coach also argued that: “Even this is the first time Vietnam team joining in this round, but we experienced the playing with Middle East’s teams in Asian Cup 2019 and SEA Games 2018. Especially, tomorrow is the Vietnam National Day, so I hope that our players will have the support to bring happiness for Vietnamese”.
While asked about the lost 0-4 and 0-5 of Vietnam team in matches with Saudi Arabia in the first round of FIFA World Cup 2002, head coach Park Hang-seo said that: “That result was too long ago. I cannot answer this question because that time I was not the head coach of Vietnam. But I can affirm that the Vietnam team now is totally different with the past”.
While the media asked if Vietnam has any player who is playing overseas and how the head coach plan the tactics for the upcoming match, head coach Park Hang-seo stated: “I think you can find out the information about the playing abroad of Vietnamese players on the Internet. Tomorrow match we have to play away from home. Vietnam team is the weakest team in Group B. I think Saudi Arabia’s team really wants to get 3 points and will take initiative from the beginning. We will find the way to get out that pressing to have a good result”.
Head coach Park Hang-seo also sent a message to Vietnamese fan: “Vietnamese fan loves football so much. They are expecting a good match tomorrow. Our opponent is one of the strongest teams in Asia. That will be a tough match. We will use Vietnamese spirit and try to play well. I cannot predict the result but I believe that our players will do their best to meet the expectation of Vietnamese”.
Captain Que Ngoc Hai:
“We are so excited because this is the first time, we have had the opportunity to play in this round. Saudi Arabia is a strong opponent in Asia so obviously, we will face many difficulties. However, we have good preparation and are ready for the match. We will show off our highest spirit. We cannot promise on any result but we determinate to satisfied Vietnamese fan”.
