Head coach Park Hang-seo: “Japan team is a strong opponent but Vietnam team will try to get point”
Tomorrow evening (Nov 11), Vietnam national team will have the match with Japan team in My Dinh Stadium at the FIFA World Cup 2022 Asian 3rd Qualifier, in the press conference before the match, head coach Park Hang-seo argued Japan team as one of the strongest opponent in this round, however, Vietnam national team still has specific advantage.

“In this round, until now, Japan team has 2 wins and 2 losses. They are rated higher than Vietnam team in the standing as well as FIFA Ranking. Therefore, they will be a difficult opponent. However, if look back to the previous matches, expect the match with Australia, other matches we all have the goal. Hence we will keep trying to get point” – Head coach Park Hang-seo remarked about the next match.
2018, Vietnam team had a match with Japan team in Asian Games and won 1-0. However, head coach Park Hang-seo stated that was under-23-years-old level, so cannot show the ability of the nation teams. “Japan team has the players who are playing in the top tournaments in the world, they are good at controlling the ball”.
Captain Que Ngoc Hai said: “The match tomorrow definitely not easy, because Japan team has players who are playing in Europe countries, even some are playing in the top tournaments such as Premiere League. However, I and my teammates still confident in the match tomorrow. During this month, we analysed the points of Japan team”.
In the conference, head coach Hajime Moriyasu (Japan team) appreciated the effort of head coach Park Hang-seo for the achievements of Vietnam team. “He has spent many time for Vietnam team, and we can see the development of each player. Tomorrow, playing in Vietnam’s home ground will be a difficult for us. However, with the experience from last matches, we still try to get 3 points in the match with Vietnam team”.
