Head coach Park Hang-seo: “Vietnam will try to win points against Australia”
In the press conference before the second leg against Australia in FIFA World Cup 2022 Asian 3rd Qualifier, head coach Park Hang-seo affirmed that the Vietnamese team is ready to prepare for good results. The team will try to get the score against the home team.
Coach Park Hang-seo said: “We have lost six matches, no points yet. Tomorrow we will face Australia. Playing at home, Australia will certainly be determined to win. On our side, although we have to play away, we also need points. We will try to get the points against Australia.”
Answering a question about the weaknesses that can be exploited by the Australian team, head coach Park Hang-seo shared: “Now it is very difficult to find the weaknesses of a strong Asian team like Australia. They have more advantages than disadvantages. Vietnam’s players may be inferior to their opponents, but we are ready to prepare for the best results.”
Talking about the choice of 23 players in the official registration list for the match, head coach Park Hang-seo said that after the familiarisation session, he and the coaching assistants will have a meeting, to consider assessing the match. Evaluate the performance of the players, check the injury situation before making a decision. Mr. Park also added that the absence of some players, such as Tien Linh and Van Toan, is not a cause for concern. “We have other players to replace,” head coach Park Hang-seo confirmed.
Captain Do Hung Dung:
“After returning to the national team, I received the help of the coaching assistants and teammates. The Vietnamese team is cohesive, so I didn’t have many difficulties reintegrating. I used to be the captain of the U23 team, now the captain of the national team. I feel pretty confident. We have worked hard to train to have the best preparation. Hopefully, the team will get good results in tomorrow’s match.”
The match between Australia and Vietnam will take place at 20:10 local time (16:10 VN time) at AAMI Park Stadium, Melbourne. Vietnam team will play in red jeysey
