Vietnamese footballers will compete with strong rivals from China , Japan , Australia and the Republic of Korea (RoK) in the AFC Champions League 2008.

Under the draw for the tournament, which was conducted by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on December 17, National Cub winner DPM.Nam Dinh – will encounter Beijing Guoan from China and Kashima Antlers from Japan .

Meanwhile, V-League champions B.Binh Duong sits in a tough group with Changchun Yatai from China , Adelaide United from Australia and Pohang Steelers from the RoK.

The Asian premier club competition will be played between 28 clubs, which will be divided into seven groups.

The tournament will kick off on March 12 and the round-robin stage will conclude on May 21. The home-and-away quarterfinals are scheduled for September 17 and 24, while the semifinals are slated for October 8 and 22. 
The two-legged finals are scheduled for November 5 and November 12.
