Malaysia and Myanmar are interested in fielding their national teams in an U21 football championship to be held in Vietnam next October.

Vietnam Football Federation general secretary Tran Quoc Tuan said they had evinced interest after learning Vietnam was considering sending invitations to some regional nations.

With Thailand and Singapore having confirmed their entries for the four-team tournament to be held in Nha Trang, the organizers are looking for one more foreign squad.

The Vietnamese team will be chosen after the national U21 championship that will wrap up three days before the event. Forty provinces are set to take part.

Thanh Nien will sponsor the three foreign teams to take part in the Nha Trang tournament.
