Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien evaluated that 2019 was a successful year of Vietnamese Football not only for the national teams but also for the youth teams. “Especially we got 2 gold medals at SEA Games after many years waiting. I hope in the coming time, we will still able to maintain  these successes. It is not an easy thing, however, I expect that these achievements will become a motivation to develop Vietnamese Football.

The national teams gathered when the country was still having a Tet holiday. I am very happy to see the highly competitive spirit of the teams. At the same time, I also understand your difficulties – who are working for Vietnamese Football, who always follow and support the teams. 2020 is a year with many important matches, we need to focus and prepare the best conditional for both teams at the Qualifying round of World Cup and Olympic. Even cannot predict the result, we still need to try the best in all matches. This is the way to work in sport department” – Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien shared.

Responded to the attention of the Ministry of Culture, Sport, and Tourism, VFF President Le Khanh Hai thanked the Minister. “We will try the best forward to 2020 with more outstanding achievements, therefore upgrade Vietnamese Football to a new level”.

VFF Permanent Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that 2020 is the year to inherit the great success of 2019. “We need to continue working hard to meet the expectation of the leaders and supporters. To do that, we have to focus on the development of national football including the youth tournaments and V.League. All departments need to turn the expectation to the motivation, and make more suitable plans to achieve higher goals in 2020 and the coming years”.
