Overcoming Dak Lak on the 11m mark, Binh Phuoc won the right to promote to the National First Division in the 2023/2024 season
With a 1-1 draw after two official rounds, Binh Phuoc excellently overcame Dak Lak with a score of 4-3 on penalties in the 2023 play-off match, thereby gaining the right to participate in the 2023/2024 First Division.

Previously, in the 2023 Second Division, Dong Thap and Dong Nai overcame Tre SHB Da Nang and Dak Lak respectively to win 2 official tickets to First Division for the 2023/2024 season. In the play-off match to continue joining in the play-off with the team that finished last in the 2023 First Division, Dak Lak overcame Tre SHB Da Nang with a score of 2-0 to meet Binh Phuoc.
In this afternoon’s play-off match, Binh Phuoc was the better team and created many opportunities right from the moment the ball rolled. However, the surprise came in the 12th minute, after a free kick from about 35 meters away, the ball hit Ho’s foot and changed direction, causing goalkeeper Binh Phuoc to watch helplessly as the ball flew into the net. In the second half, Binh Phuoc continued to control the game and they scored in the 71st minute with a close-range kick from Bui Xuan Quy.
In the last minutes, Dinh Tien Phong from Binh Phuoc side received a direct red card after elbowing Pham Van Truong in the face. Including overtime, Dak Lak had 8 minutes of play ahead but the team from the Central Highlands was unable to score more goals. At the end of the official 90 minutes, the two teams drew 1-1, both Binh Phuoc and Dak Lak had to decide the winner or loser on the 11m mark. As a result, Binh Phuoc won with a score of 4-3. Defeating Dak Lak with a total score of 5-4, Binh Phuoc remained in the First Division for the 2023/2024 season.
