Qualifier Round 2: Vietnam vs Japan: 0-2

Playing against a strong opponent as Japan, Vietnam played very hard. The score 0-2 is a acceptable result for the team of head coach Mai Duc Chung.

Japan 2-0 Vietnam
Japan kept Vietnam on their toes from the get go and almost scored in the 17th minute with Vietnam keeper Khong Thi Hang forced into a diving save following Remina Chiba’s looping header.
Khong was called into action again in the 33rd minute when she easily collected Hana Takahashi’s headed attempt off Yui Hasegawa’s free-kick before eventually conceding seven minutes later.
Chiba started the move at the top of the box, finding a surging Hinata Miyazawa, who squared it nicely for Risa Shimizu for an easy tap-in.
Vietnam conceded again in the 54th minute when Khong fumbled Hasegawa’s cross, which caused a scramble inside the box, before Saki Kumagai played the ball on for Miyabi Moriya to squeeze into the back of the net as Japan moved within two matches for a place in the Paris Olympics.
Uzbekistan 3-0 India
Uzbekistan took two only minutes to find the target courtesy of Nilufar Kudratova, who redirected Diyorakhon Khabibullaeva’s flick off Diyorakhon Khabibullaeva’s corner.
Kudratova almost doubled their lead in the 18th minute when she timed her run well to collect Feruza Bobokhujaeva’s through ball, only to see her effort from inside the box deflected for a corner by Shreya Hooda.
India barely threatened and fell further behind in the 51st minute when Lyudmila Karachik slotted home Uzbekistan’s second goal from inside the six-yard-box, finishing off a fine team buildup courtesy of Umida Zoirova’s through ball.
