Song Lam Nghe An solidified their top position after demolishing Khanh Hoa 4-0 in the 14th round, the first round of the V-League second stage.

 

Kavin Bryan gave Song Lam the lead when he scored the opener in the 23rd minute.

 

In the second half, Trong Hoang doubled the score for Song Lam from the penalty spot in the 67th minute. Bryan fired the third in the 79th minute before Hodge headed in from Trong Hoang’s cross in injury time to seal a great convincing victory over Khanh Hoa.

Powerhouse Da Nang also trounced hosts Ninh Binh 4-0 at Ninh Binh stadium.

 

 

Gaston Merlo opened the scoring for Da Nang in the 36th minute and Nicolas scored the second in the last minute of the first half.

 

One minute into the second half, Merlo widened the gap to 3-0 and Dembele struck the fourth, completing a big win for Da Nang.

 

At Go Dau, Philani’s brace helped Binh Duong under new manager Dang Tran Chinh thrash Navibank Saigon 3-1. Leandro gave Binh Duong the lead in the 4th minute and Philani doubled the score two minutes later. It was Philani who fired the third goal for Binh Duong in the 13th minute. Duoc Em scored the consolation for Navibank in the 79th minute.

 

The match between Dong Thap and Hoang Anh Gia Lai ended in a 1-1 draw. Van Nghia helped Dong Thap go ahead with his goal in the 9th minute but Tang Tuan scored the equaliser for Gia Lai in the 23rd minute.

 

Meanwhile, defending champions Hanoi T & T were held 0-0 by visitors Thanh Hoa at Hang Day stadium after having wasted a lot of real chances to score.

 

At Lach Tray stadium, Hai Phong shared points with Dong Tam Long An in a goalless draw.

 

On Saturday, ACB edged Hoa Phat 3-2 in an exciting Hanoi derby.

 

As a result, Song Lam Nghe An continued topping the V-League with 32 points from 14 games, followed by Da Nang (28 points), Dong Thap (24 points).

 

ACB (13 points) moved into 12th place from 13th while and Hai Phong (13 points) dropped to 13th place and Dong Tam Long An (11 points) remained bottom.
