Thailand and Malaysia bring many new factors to the U19 International Tournament 2022

U19 Vietnam has been present in Binh Duong since August 1 to attend the International U19 tournament, today (August 3), the away team from Malaysia – the defending champion of the AFF U19 Championship, U19 Thailand, U19 Myanmar will also be present in Binh Duong to participate in the International U19 tournament, taking place from August 5 to 11. The U19 Malaysia with 28 members, including 20 players and 8 officials, led by Mr. Dali Bin Wahi and head coach Hassan Sazali Mohd Waras will take a flight to Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 11:10 am on the morning of Aug 03.

Compared to the formation that won the AFF U19 Championship, U19 Malaysia has at least 10 changes, besides the familiar players such as goalkeeper Syahmi Adib, midfielder Adli Ahamad, defender Danis Irfan or striker Irzin Ibrahim… who played quite prominently in Indonesia last month, the force of the team from Kuala Lumpur had many alteration. Before leaving for Vietnam, head coach Hassan Waras said that although he won the AFF Championship, he was not very satisfied with the U19 Malaysian team at that moment. He also affirmed that U19 Malaysia needs to add many quality players and he needs to test more new factors. Therefore, U19 Malaysia went to Vietnam with many new players, head coach Hassan Waras said: “They are not inferior to the players who have played in AFF Championship because they are supported from clubs to dispute with Korea, Mongolia and Sri Lanka in the Asian U20 qualifier next September to qualify to the finals”.

Meanwhile, U19 Thailand will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 21:20 on August 3 with 31 members including 21 players and 10 officials led by team manager Nathan Ratananakin and head coach Salvador Garcia. After the defeat at the AFF U19 tournament, Thailand was determined to “revenge” and also to prepare well for the dispute with Oman, Philippines and Afghanistan in the Asian U20 qualifier, so the team went to Vietnam to attend the U19 international tournament also has up to 8 changes. The key players still include defenders Thawatchai Inprakon, Theekawin Chansri, midfielder Thanawat Saipetch, Kroekpong Abram (scored against Vietnam in a 1-1 draw in the group stage) besides new additions such as midfielders Thanakrit Laorkai, Thavatchai Ao Charad, striker Pattarapon Susakit, winger Chaewawit Saelao… With these new factors, head coach Salvador hopes Thailand will improve and regain the leading position in the region at the International U19 tournament, taking place from August 5-11 in Binh Duong.

Another team, U19 Myanmar, will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 19:05 on August 3, and head coach Soe Myat Min will bring 19/21 players who attended the AFF U19 Championship to Vietnam. U19 Myanmar is trying to come back after losing to Vietnam and Thailand in the group stage of AFF U19 Championship. Mr. Soe Myat Min affirmed that his team, although is not highly rated, will definitely surprise to “collect debt” from 2 opponents in the tournament and aim to perfect the gameplay style to dispute with China and Saudi Arabia and host Uzbekistan in the group are very strong in the Asian U20 qualifier.
