The Cong Viettel and Song Lam Nghe An Advance to the Final of the 2026 National U13 Youth Football Championship – Yamaha Cup
On the afternoon of 11 July, the atmosphere at Lach Tray Stadium in Hai Phong was electric as two thrilling semi-finals took place as part of the Finals of the 2026 National U13 Youth Football Championship – Yamaha Cup. At the final whistle, The Cong Viettel and Song Lam Nghe An had both overcome their opponents to book their places in the tournament final.
Semi-final 1: The Cong Viettel 1-0 Hanoi FC
The young capital derby got off to an exciting start immediately after the opening whistle.
First half: The Cong Viettel took the initiative and applied pressure during the opening 10 minutes but were unable to convert their chances. Hanoi FC gradually regained control of the game and created several dangerous shooting opportunities, all of which were denied by the opposing goalkeeper.
The breakthrough came in the 30th minute. Following a scramble in front of the Hanoi FC goal, Hoang Anh reacted quickest and cleverly poked the ball home to give The Cong Viettel a 1-0 lead.
Second half: Trailing by a goal, Hanoi FC committed fully to attack. However, The Cong Viettel’s resilient defence successfully neutralised every attacking move to preserve their narrow 1-0 victory and secure their place in the final.
Semi-final 2: Song Lam Nghe An 4-0 Dong A Thanh Hoa
The Central Region semi-final was a one-sided affair, with title contenders Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) dominating proceedings.
First half: SLNA imposed their style of play from the outset, but Dong A Thanh Hoa’s focused defence successfully dealt with the pressure, and the opening 30 minutes ended goalless.
Second half: Dong A Thanh Hoa continued to adopt a highly defensive approach in an effort to take the match to a penalty shootout. However, the turning point came in the 51st minute when captain Ba Duan produced a moment of brilliance, cleverly escaping his marker before finishing to give SLNA a 1-0 lead.
