The Vietnam women’s team returns to the warm welcome of the fans
At 11:25 on the afternoon (August 3), the Vietnam women’s football team arrived at Noi Bai international airport – Hanoi, the group of 07 people from the South landed at Tan Son Nhat airport at 11 a.m., ending the journey at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

Welcoming the team at Noi Bai international airport were Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen – Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Adminstration, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung – Deputy Head of the Department of High Performance Sports, Mrs. Nguyen Thanh Ha – Deputy General Secretary of the VFF and many other press, media and fans.
At the airport, coach Mai Duc Chung and his students were surprised to see the fans welcoming the team very affectionately. He shared: “Yesterday, we were also seen off by Vietnam people in New Zealand before the team left the hotel for the airport and today when we returned to Vietnam we were very surprised and touched… Thank you fans and the Vietnamese people welcomed us warmly. The Vietnam women’s team is very touched by this sentiment.”
Coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed: “The Vietnam women’s team has had memorable experiences. We can salute the flag, sing the Vietnam national anthem in your country, and be watched by everyone. The players also have access to the high level of world football.
We still have shortcomings, we have to overcome a lot to make progress. In Southeast Asia, the Vietnam women’s team is number 1, but in Asia and the world, we have a gap and need more efforts. Vietnam Women’s players have done their best, playing with high determination, but there is still a gap.”
“We promise to continue to be more determined in training to play better at ASIAD 19 and the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers,” said coach Mai Duc Chung.
