Leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation and the Spainish La Liga club FC Barcelona met Sunday in Hanoi to negotiate the club”s tour of Vietnam and the opening of a football academy in Hanoi.
 
FC Barcelona”s Asian marketing director Josua Thomson told VFF chairman Nguyen Trong Hy that the Spanish club would tap the Vietnamese market, inspired by its successful tour of China and Japan last month.
 
The club suggested organizing a friendly match in mid May between the Vietnamese national team and Barcelona squad, said Hy.
 
Leaders of the two sides also discussed the possibility of opening a football school in Hanoi under technical and professional assistance from Barcelona.
