The Hoang Anh Gia Lai club has broken ground for the Hoang Anh Gia Lai -Arsenal JMG Football Academy in Ham Rong, Pleiku city, Gia Lai province.

The five-hectare football institute, jointly built by Vietnam’s Hoang Anh Gia Lai and England”s Arsenal football club, includes two training grounds, two rows of houses, and other facilities for meeting, physical exercises and a dining hall.

Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony on March 5, Secretary General Tran Quoc Tuan of the Vietnam Football Federation said the Hoang Anh Gia Lai -Arsenal JMG Football Academy is expected to provide young talent for the country’s football development.

This is not only an important football event for Southeast Asia but also an opportunity for Vietnam’s football to access the world’s advanced training skills, he added.

The academy is expected to enrole students, aged 12, across the country next month for its first official course in September. Its students will receive training in seven years, both at home and in the UK.
